Australia will look to maintain their dominant record over the United States when the two sides meet in Wellington on Friday.

The Wallabies have beaten the US Eagles six times since the first meeting between the sides in Berkeley in 1912. With tries then worth three points, Australia prevailed just 12-8 despite running in three tries compared to the USA's one. The two sides did not meet again for another 64 years, but when they did Australia again emerged victors, this time 24-12 in Los Angeles.

Since then the Wallabies' victories have been more convincing, with the clash in Brisbane in 1990 ending in a 67-9 thrashing with Australia running in 12 tries, including two apiece for Michael Lynagh and Ian Williams.

Australia's dominance has continued at the Rugby World Cup with the Wallabies thumping the US Eagles 47-12 in Brisbane during the inaugural World Cup in 1987. And 12 years later they repeated the Pool stages defeat with a 55-19 triumph in Limerick.

The two sides are slated to meet once again at Rugby World Cup 2011 in New Zealand.
