Mike Tindall is set to return to the relative safety of the playing field when he rejoins the England line-up for the clash with Romania on Saturday.

The centre, whose wife Zara is currently en route to New Zealand, skippered England in the absence of Lewis Moody, but found himself making headlines for all the wrong reasons following a well-publicised squad night out in Queenstown.

However having been rested for the 41-10 win over Georgia, England's most capped centre is tipped to be restored to the England XV to face Romania in Dunedin.

The Gloucester centre is set to be joined by Jonny Wilkinson and fit-again Mark Cueto. Those said to be making way are Shontayne Hape, Delon Armitage and Toby Flood.

England manager Martin Johnson is also expected to rotate his pack, with David Wilson set for his first start of the tournament and Steve Thompson, Louis Deacon and Tom Croft also returning to the starting XV.

With Nick Easter struggling with the back injury that forced him to miss the victory over Georgia and training this week, James Haskell will continue at No.8.

England's other injury concerns, Matt Stevens and Chris Ashton are both expected to be declared for the clash despite picking up knocks last time out.
