Veteran Felipe Contepomi will captain Argentina against England in Salta on Saturday.

Contepomi retired from club rugby at the end of the Top 14 season but will extend his 79-Test international career as part of an experienced midfield partnership that also features Gonzalo Tiesi. The Pumas are resting many front line players ahead of the Rugby Championship but there are no uncapped players in their line-up that includes Benjamin Urdapilleta at fly-half and Julio Farias Cabello at blindside flanker.

"This is a great opportunity for these players, both new and those who already have more experience," said head coach Santiago Phelan. "To represent your country in a game as big as this is a great responsibility."
