Leinster miss out as French are fined.

The European Cup directors have fined Stade Francais £IR5,000 but allowed them to keep all their match points, thus guaranteeing their quarter final qualification, after fielding an ineligible player in the pool stages.
Brian Lima, who played against Leinster in December, had not been registered in time for the competition and the Irish side had raised an objection, claiming Stade should have been docked points, thus allowing Leinster through to the quarter-finals.
A similar fate befell Agen, who were docked four points after fielding an ineligible player in the European Shield.
Leinster have reacted angrily to the decision with honorary secretary Sandy Heffernan claiming"
"We (Leinster) feel vindicated in that the player has been found to be ineligible, However in all the circumstances we are dismayed at the inappropriateness of the sanction imposed."
The statement concluded by stating that "Leinster will take advice and consider its position carefully over the next few days".
