Russia and Uruguay will battle for the final spot in the 2015 Rugby World Cup with the first leg taking place in Siberia on September 27.

Krasnoyarsk, a hotbed of Russian rugby talent, will host the first leg of the repechage play-off at the end of September with Russia then travelling to Montevideo to play the return leg on October 11. Ireland's George Clancy will referee the match in Siberia with France's Romain Poite taking charge of the match at the CharrĂșa Stadium.

The winner will take a place in Pool A of the World Cup with Australia, England, Wales and Fiji awaiting them.

Chairman of the World Cup Bernard Lapasset said: "With just over a year to go, we are almost at the end of the qualification process for Rugby World Cup 2015 and, for the two teams left standing, the dream of playing at our pinnacle tournament lives on. Only one team will qualify and I am looking forward to two very intense and compelling matches in Siberia and Montevideo.

"By its conclusion, some 3,000 players from 83 teams across six continents will have taken part in a record-breaking Rugby World Cup 2015 qualification process featuring 203 matches. As such, there is a clear pathway for all IRB Member Unions towards the game's most important tournament."
