The Rugby Football Union says Stuart Lancaster is "wholly focused" on England's bid for the Rugby World Cup after he appeared in a brochure advertising his services as a corporate speaker.

The contents of the brochure which promoted Lancaster, sent out by 'creative talent management agency' M&C Saatchi, were laid bare in the Sunday Times. A portion read: "With Stuart's academic background he is quite unique. As a great leader he has shifted people's perceptions of reality - inspiring people to do the impossible."

Also listed are his achievements as England manager. In response to the publication, the RFU said the agency had sent out the brochure without its or Lancaster's permission.

"M&C Saatchi Merlin produced and sent this brochure without Stuart's permission," a RFU spokesperson said. "They have apologised unreservedly for this error.

"Stuart remains wholly focused on the England Senior team to ensure it is in the best possible shape for September's Rugby World Cup."
