Former South Africa centre Jaque Fourie is ready to come out of international retirement to play at the World Cup, according to his new Kobe Steelers coach Allister Coetzee.

Fourie announced his decision to step away from the Test arena last November as he committed his future to the Steelers.

That decision came as a surprise to Springboks coach Heyneke Meyer but it seems the 72-cap centre is ready to end his exile.

"The club have decided that Jaque Fourie will be available should they require his services, and he does want to [play]," Coetzee said.

Fourie, who played his last Test against France in November 2013 would be a welcome addition with Jean de Villiers still recovering from injury and Frans Steyn unavailable.

However, former Stormers coach Coetzee revealed that Springbok lock Andries Bekker would not be released for the World Cup by the Steelers.

"As far as I know Andries won't be available for Springbok selection for this year's World Cup," he added.

"I can tell you now that it is a decision that the club has made and has been communicated to the powers that be in South African rugby."
