Will pressure make or break England?

"We must give Australia a reason to quit" was the rallying call from England scrum-half Ben Youngs on the eve of their Rugby World Cup all-or-nothing match.

Lose the match against the Wallabies and England will be out of the World Cup, the first hosts to exit the tournament in the pool stages. But if they win, England's campaign will be back on track and they will have their fate in their own hands ahead of their final pool match against Uruguay next weekend.

With the pool now a three-horse race between England, Wales and Australia, the Wallabies know if they fall on Saturday at Twickenham, a win against Wales next weekend will probably be enough to see them into the knockout stages.

Youngs feels that back-up option for Australia may sway the psychological side of the game into England's favour.

"The game's going to be close," Youngs said. "The past experiences of our games against Australia will count for nothing on Saturday. Australia potentially have a reason to quit tomorrow. They can go to Wales and can afford to lose a game but we can't.

"We have to make sure we give them a reason to quit.

"We need to come out in the first 20 minutes and blow them away with a real intensity and edge to our game, with physicality. We need to go above what they'll bring. The resilience in our side is that we cannot quit, we must give them a reason to fold."
