New Zealand winger Julian Savea, whose eight tries have helped his country storm into the Rugby World Cup final, has got two scores on the shortlist for the International Rugby Players' Association (IRPA) Try of the Year 2015.

Savea takes his place on the shortlist alongside Wales' Justin Tipuric, Japan World Cup star Ayumu Gormaru, France's Vincent Debaty and Tonga's Fetu'u Vainikolo.

The All Blacks star's nominations both come for tries he scored in the World Cup quarterfinal demolition of France, while Goromaru gets a nod for his score in Japan's historic win over South Africa.

Tipuric, meanwhile, is on the list for his try in Wales' warm-up against Ireland while Debaty was on the end of a flowing French move against England in the Six Nations and Vainikolo also finished off a move that started in his own 22, against the USA in July.

The six tries were selected by the IRPA Try of Year panel of former players in Ireland's Shane Horgan, All Black Christian Cullen, Serge Betsen of France and South Africa's Stefan Terblanche. The winner will be announced at the World Rugby Awards on Nov. 1.

Previous winners of the award include Bryan Habana, Chris Ashton and Brian O'Driscoll. Last year's gong was picked up by South Africa's Francois Hougaard.

World Rugby chairman Bernard Lapasset said: "We have been lucky enough to witness some fantastic tries during 2015 and these tries are testament to rugby's character-building values of teamwork and enjoyment and I am looking forward to seeing who the Awards' guests will give the honour of scoring the IRPA Try of the Year 2015 to."
