Northland no8 Samiu Vahafolau will miss his side's next two home matches, against Taranaki and Counties -Manukau, after being suspended for two weeks for a high tackle on Auckland fly half Carlos Spencer.

Vahafolau was cited after last Friday's game in Whangarei, won by Auckland. The incident occurred mid way through the second half but was not spotted at the time by the match oficials. The irony in this is that at the beginning of the season Vahafolau was deemed surplus to Auckland's requirements and loaned to the Northland union.

Coach Bryce Woodward has had to contend with the selection of a forward pack missing a total of three players missing through suspension- the others being Joe Ross and Mike Storey.

Northland's squad for the clash with Taranaki on Saturday evening is :

Hayden Taylor, Norm Berryman, Jason Shoemark, Robbie Johnson, Jason Hita, Tony Monaghan, Joggie Viljoen, Brett Waaka, Justin Collins, Matt Webber, Glenn Taylor (captain ), Vula Maimuri,Tim Knight, Jason Hammond, Joeli Veitayaki.

Reserves : Tim Dow, Wayne Rogers, Ryan Cooper, Allen Tubbs, Sam Pinder, Jared Going, Fero Lasagavibau.
