Stade Francais prop Rodrigo Roncero has escaped sanction for an act of foul play committed in his side's Amlin Challenge Cup semi-final win over Clermont Auvergne last Friday.

The Argentine international was cited for a late body check on Clermont scrum-half Morgan Parra during the first half of the game at the Stade Charlety in Paris.

Roncero appeared before an ERC disciplinary panel in Dublin on Friday and admitted his guilt - but he argued that the offence did not warrant a red card.

The independent Judicial Officer Mark McParland upheld the citing but accept the player's argument and decreed that no ban was necessary.

Consequently, Roncero is now free to play in Stade's Top 14 clash with Racing Metro on Saturday and, more significantly, the Amlin Challenge Cup final clash with Harlequins in Cardiff on May 20.
