Former England centre Mike Tindall is set to leave Gloucester after rejecting a new deal with the Aviva Premiership club, according to reports.

The Citizen reports that Tindall has turned down a new one-year contract with the club, paving his way to leave the Cherry and Whites at the end of the season. The 33-year-old is said to be in discussions with Stade Francais over a potential move to the French Top 14.

Tindall is no longer part of England's Elite Player Squad and therefore the Rugby Football Union no longer supplement his wages. The report suggest Gloucester were unwilling to increase their contribution to maintain the players salary or offer the two-year deal Tindall wanted.

With inside centre Billy Twelvetrees arriving from Leicester for next centre to join young stars such as Henry Trinder, Ryan Mills and Jonny May, Gloucester should not be short of midfield options next season. However the Cherry and Whites may miss the experience offered by the 75-cap centre.
