Olympus' place in the 2013-14 Amlin Challenge Cup is shrouded in uncertainty following reports they have pulled out of the competition due to a lack of funding.

The Federacion Espanola de Rugby (FER) has claimed the club have not got enough money to cover their participation in the tournament. Reports in the Reading Post say the competition's organising body are looking at ways to keep the Madrid-based club in the Cup.

The news will impact on the rest of the group with London Irish supporters - with their club featuring in Pool 5 alongside Olympus, I Cavalieri Prato and Stade Francais - advised to hold fire before booking a trip to Spain.

"London Irish has been made aware of the situation regarding Olympus XV's position in the Amlin Challenge Cup," a London Irish statement read. "We are working with the tournament's rightsholder, ERC and will advise supporters on developments as soon as their position is clarified."
