Toulon remain two points clear at the Top 14 summit after they came from behind to beat Lyon 30-6 at Stade Felix Mayol.

Lyon held a 6-3 lead at the break thanks to two penalties from Jérôme Porical, but the defending champions hit back with a Chris Masoe try and Leigh Halfpenny penalty.

Five further points from the boot of Halfpenny moved Toulon clear and, after Jean-Philippe Bonrepaux was shown a yellow card for Lyon, Drew Mitchell took advantage to put victory beyond doubt. Masoe added his second try of the night to secure the bonus point and ensure the champions remain top of the pile at Christmas.

Clermont Auvergne remain second with a hard fought 19-10 victory against Castres, but they had to play the entirety of the second half with only 14 men.

Remy Grosso's try was converted by Rory Kockott before Camille Lopez reduced the deficit to one point with two penalties. However, Clermont's Julien Bardy was shown a red card at the end of the first half while Yannick Caballero was sin-binned for the visitors.

Zac Guildford went over the whitewash early in the second half and Morgan Parra converted, before adding a further two penalties either side of Kockett's kick to complete the victory.

Racing Metro easily saw off La Rochelle at Stade Yves du Manoir but ultimately missed out on a bonus point.

A try from Dimitri Szarzewski and five points from the boot of Maxime Machenaud gave Racing a 10-3 lead at half-time following Fabien Fortassin's early penalty.

Brice Dulin and Yoan Audrin added further tries in the second half while Machenaud kicked another seven, but Jean Pascal Barraque went over late for the visitors.

Montpellier edged above Toulouse after Teddy Iribaren's late penalty earned them a 23-20 victory on Saturday.

Six points from the boot of Benoit Paillaugue gave the hosts an early lead before visiting fly-half Luke McAlister cut the deficit in half with a penalty of his own.

Wynand Olivier went over just past the half-hour mark and, after Paillaugue converted, Montepellier found breathing space with a ten-point lead at the break.

However, two quickfire tries from Vincent Clerc - which were both converted by McAlister - had Toulouse back in front. A penalty try was awarded after a lot of toing and froing on the Toulouse line, which Paillaugue converted to move the hosts into the lead again.

McAlister added three more from the boot but missed a touch from another penalty, which would have seen them camped deep in their opponent's half. It would prove costly as Grégory Lamboley was penalised for a high challenge and Iribaren kept his cool to seal victory.

Santiago Fernandez's late drop goal secured a thrilling 15-12 victory for Bayonne against Bordeaux Bagles.

Bayonne's Martin Bustos Moyano and Bagles' Pierre Bernard traded penalties as the visitors held a narrow 9-6 lead at the break.

Bustos Moyano added six more points with the boot but Bernard accurately levelled within the opening 10 minutes of the second half. With the match seemingly petering out to a draw, Fernandez struck late on to ensure Bayonne closed the gap on their rivals: they now sit ninth in the table, three points behind Bordeaux.

Elsewhere, Brive were too good for Oyonnax as the home side won 19-6 in the bottom of the table clash.

Nicolas Bezy's early drop goal was followed by Alfi Mafi's try and five points from the boot of Geaten Germain.

Ben Urdapilleta got Oyonnax on the scoreboard with a penalty early in the second half but two further kicks from Germain secured the points for Brive.

Grenoble slumped to their first home defeat of the Top 14 season as Stade Francais ran riot at the Stade de Alpes with an impressive 43-30 victory.

Tries from Julien Arias and Antoine Burban gave the visitors the momentum in an action-packed first half, with Jules Plisson adding three penalties and a conversion to the tally.

Three penalties from home fly-half Jonathan Wisniewski kept Grenoble in it before the break, but the Stade Francais attack ultimately proved too much for them.

Waisea Nayacalevu Vuidravuwalu touched down twice either side of Florian Faure's effort for Grenoble, although more points from the boot of Plisson kept Stade Francais out of any real danger.

Jonathan Danty made it five tries for the away side, but a late penalty try was given against them to deny a what would have been a deserved bonus point. Victory, though, sends Stade Francais top of the table.
