Saracens booked a home semi-final thanks to a 35-18 win over Exeter Chiefs in the LV=Cup.

Saracens will host Northampton while their win at Allianz Park on Sunday means Exeter will travel to Leicester in the other semi-final. The Chiefs arrived in north London knowing they had already done enough to reach the knockout stages but Mark McCall's side needed a victory to overtake Gloucester at the top of Pool 1.

Tries from Tim Streather, Nick de Jager (two), Catalin Fercu and Matt Hankin secured the win for Saracens while Ben Spencer kicked 15 points. Exeter crossed through Sam Skinner and Tom James while fly half Ceri Sweeney added eight points from the tee.

The Dragons were also in action and they fought back to edge past London Welsh 17-13 at Rodney Parade.

It was not straight forward though, with Newport having to rely on second-half tries from wing Tom Prydie and replacement scrum-half Richie Rees, with Prydie adding both conversions in addition to an earlier penalty, to overturn a 13-3 deficit at half time.

Welsh had put themselves in a strong position thanks to a try from wing Nick Scott plus two penalties and a conversion from fly-half Tristan Roberts, but the hosts found a way to spare their blushes and give coach Lyn Jones victory over his former side.
