New Zealand 'A' confirm autumn itinerary
September 26, 2000

The NZRFU have announced that New Zealand A will tour France, Wales and Romania this November with Canterbury's Robbie Deans as their coach.

Deans will be assisted in coaching by his assistants at Canterbury, Steve Hansen and the side will be managed by Canterbury NPC and Crusaders S12 manager Darren Shand.

The end-of-season tour has been arranged to compensation for the intended mid-year fixtures, which had to be canned.

The side will play Wales A in Cardiff and France A in Bayonne before embarking on their first tour of Romania since 1981.

One other tour game will be played against the French Barbarians in Lens. The side will be a mixture of the All Blacks and the A team and during their visit to the region players will visit the war graves of many young New Zealanders who died there during the Second World War.

The New Zealand A team itinerary is:

7 November v French Barbarians, Lens.
10 November v Wales A, Cardiff.
15 November v France A, Bayonne.
25 November v Romania, Bucharest.
