Bristol Rugby are keen on bringing Bath's Anthony Perenise to the club.

Reports in the Western Daily Press say Bristol, who currently lie fourth in the Championship, are keen on following up the signing of Sale's Dwayne Peel with another recruit from the Aviva Premiership.

Perenise's contract with Bath is up at the end of the season and the club have been heavily linked with Sale tight-head Henry Thomas, a move that could spell the end of Perenise's time at the Recreation Ground.

For Bristol, who recruited heavily last summer from the Premiership bringing in the likes of Ben Skirving and Nick Robinson, they are targeting promotion and academy coach Matt Sharratt said it was predictable that Bristol would be linked with a host of top players.

"It's that time of year where there's a lot of talk in the press, and new players come in and players go out," Sherratt said."We're an ambitious club - and, as all ambitious clubs do, they look to bring in quality. That's the nature of the sport and I'm sure there will be new players coming in at some stage - that's professional rugby."
