Bath head coach Mike Ford said he was relishing the challenge of the new season's Champions Cup after his side were drawn in the toughest of pools.

The Aviva Premiership runners-up have been drawn in Pool Five alongside defending champions Toulon, PRO12 heavyweights Leinster, and fellow Premiership side Wasps. All three of their pool opponents are previous European champions.

Despite the daunting prospect of home and away fixtures against such illustrious opposition, Ford insisted Bath were eager to pit themselves against the best Europe has to offer.

"European competition is the pinnacle of club rugby and we're really excited to have been drawn against three former champions of the competition," he told the official Bath website.

"Each team presents their own challenges, and while we may be more familiar with Wasps, it means we know just how competitive they can be.

"We want to test ourselves against the best and can't wait for the challenge that awaits."
