Will Collier believes Harlequins have put their shaky start to the Aviva Premiership behind them and are now going from strength to strength.

Quins lie seventh in the Premiership table having suffered early season defeats to Saracens, Exeter and Leicester. However, Collier says their opening European Rugby Champions Cup victory against Castres has restored confidence at The Stoop.

"It was excellent last week against Castres. Everything just seemed to click, we had a great buzz, we were playing with real confidence which is what we love and we need to do," Collier said.

"We need confidence when we play. You can see it in the way the team plays and the way the team functions. Even when we were still 9-6 up and there were 50, 60 minutes gone but we weren't looking at the scoreboard.

"We are a big game team and that was a huge game, coming out with all the fireworks and kicking off the new competition. It was great to be a part of and we probably all got caught up with it."

Despite the indifferent start in their domestic campaign, Collier knows Quins have time to turn their fortunes around. With big Premiership matches against Gloucester and Bath coming up in November, the prop says finding consistency will be key in rising up the table.

"I think Harlequins are on track this season. We're not where we'd like to be in the league, we'd like to be a bit higher up but it's so early on and the big games will come up and as I said we'll thrive on that.

"It's about doing the week in, week out performances and being consistent which I'm sure we'll get. The last few performances have been building towards that."
