Mike Ford will not curb Bath's attacking instincts as they strive to seal their first Aviva Premiership crown in 19 years at Twickenham on Saturday.

Having hammered rivals Leicester Tigers 47-10 at the Recreation Ground in their play-off semi-final, scoring seven tries, Bath now must topple Saracens, who last won the title in 2011.

The West Country outfit have been an attacking revelation this year, their 72-try haul coming largely thanks to a youthful midfield comprising George Ford, Kyle Eastmond and Jonathan Joseph.

Director of rugby Ford urged his charges to beat Saracens their way thus returning to the glory days of the 1990s where they were league champions on five occasions.

"People say the only way you beat Saracens is by playing like Saracens, and I suppose that is one way," Ford said to the Bath Chronicle.

"But we are going to go another way to try to beat Saracens. We are going to carry on playing the way we are playing.

"In the 36th or 37th week of the season, it is like an Olympic cyclist. You train for four years and you come to the last day on the velodrome. You have doubts in your mind and you want to try to change things on the very last day. Why would you?

"If the rain comes down on Saturday, we will drive them on scrums, go to that contest, because we've won games this year playing like that as well.

"We are a heads up rugby team. We adapt and change. Everyone is talking about our attack and stuff quite rightly - but if we have to play a little bit differently, the leaders will make those decisions at the weekend."

One of the best examples of such heads up rugby was back in October when Bath beat Saracens 21-11, surprising many to show their championship credentials at an early stage.

Nevertheless they were outmuscled in the reverse fixture, despite a late comeback, losing 34-24 at Allianz Park.

With that defeat in mind Ford knows Saracens' defence is a tough nut to crack, but insists the pressure is off for Bath as they seek their seventh league title.

"Saracens' fundamentals are brilliant. The desire they have defensively, what they do at the ruck and the line-speed they've go," Ford added.

"The kids are just going to go out there and have fun. There is no pressure on us at all, only that we train well and prepare well and make sure we bring the Bath game to Saturday. "We are a little bit ahead of where I thought we'd be, but you look at the fantastic players we have at the club and you think it's no surprise we are where we are."
