Harlequins and England centre Jordan Turner-Hall has been forced to retire from rugby due to injury.

Turner-Hall, 27, joined the Quins academy in 2005 and went on to make over 150 appearances in his 10 years at the club, winning both the Amlin Challenge Cup and the Aviva Premiership. He made his debut at 17 and helped the club achieve promotion from the National One in 2006.

However, the Camden-born star has been blighted by injury and only made four full Premiership appearances last season.

He told the Harlequins official website: "Overall I've had so many great memories playing at Harlequins and although my career has sadly had to be cut short due to injury, they are memories that will live with me forever.

"Playing with your best mates week in week out is what makes playing for Harlequins brilliant; you enjoy training and you enjoy the buzz that you get before each game and it's something I'll miss hugely."

Turner-Hall represented England from U16 to U20 level and, having featured in the uncapped clash against The Barbarians at Twickenham in 2010, was named in Stuart Lancaster's 2012 Six Nations squad.

He went on to win two Test caps in the victories over Scotland and Italy and was included in the national team that toured South Africa later that year.

Quins Director of Rugby Conor O'Shea added: "Jordan has been a very special person to have around the club and will be missed by us all both on and off the pitch.

"He has played at times with no regard for himself, but always for the team and I know everyone in the club will support him in whatever his future holds."
