Saracens flanker Jacques Burger will lead Namibia at the Rugby World Cup, having been named captain of a squad that also includes Exeter fullback Chrysander Botha.

Burger is one of four players included in the 31-man party - alongside Johnnie Redelinghuys, Tinus du Plessis and Eugene Jantjies - who are set to appear in their third World Cup.

Indeed, 14 of the squad have previous tournament experience but their is a youthful feel to head coach Phil Davies' selection, with three players under 21 and an average age of just over 26.

"There's a lot of things you have to consider when making a selection like this, the dynamics of the group is very important and I think we have a number of young, but inexperienced players whose exuberance is rubbing off on the more experienced players," Davies said.

"I think it is the strongest group of players who we could have picked to select Namibia at the Rugby World Cup. There's some good versatility and a big number of players are in good form as we showed recently when we won four Test matches and moved up to No.20 on the world rankings."

Namibia kick off their campaign against New Zealand on Sep. 24 and also face Argentina, Georgia and Tonga in Pool C.
