McCaw elected new Chairman of NZRFU

The 50 year old former Wellington and Hurricanes chairman to replace Rob Fisher.

Murray McCaw has been elected Chairman of the NZRFU , in succession to Rob Fisher, who remains on the Board but did not seek re-election as chairman.McCaw was the only nomination for the position.

Fisher's demotion coincided with former All Black manager Mike Banks losing his seat on the Board , to Hawke's Bay's Steve Lunn, completing the fallout from the unsuccessful World Cup campaign.

The Boaed for 2000 is :

North Zone : Richie Guy, Rob Fisher.
Central Zone : Steve Lunn, Murray McCaw ( Chairman).
South Zone : Tim Gresson, John Spicer.
Maoro representative : Tom Mulligan.
Independent members : Barry Thomas, Craig Norgate.
