Vickery available to aid Gloucester's title push

Phil Vickery will be able to contribute to Gloucester's Premiership run-in after his disciplinary hearing date was set for May 16.

That means the England prop, sent-off for dangerous play in Saturday's clash with Bath at Kingsholm, will be able to play in the games against Leicester,
Wasps, Newcastle and Bedford.

If the Rugby Football Union deem his dismissal by referee Chris Rees is sufficient, then he could also be available for the final match of the season at London Irish on May 20th.

Gloucester assistant coach John Brain welcomed the delayed hearing, saying, "The only time they could have done it was last night, which was too soon because we have only just seen the referee's report, or May 16th and common sense prevailed. It's good that we have got Phil's services until that day."

Vickery apologised to Gloucester fans after his first ever sending-off, saying, "I am sorry for the team, the management and the fans for letting them down by having to leave the field."
