Last season's Heineken Cup runners up, Munster, have arranged a tough pre-season opener ahead of the Irish Interprovincial Championship.

The Irish Champions will entertain Gloucester at Thomond Park on August 12, with a 1.30pm kick off. They also hope to arrange two other games before opening their Interpro campaign at Ravenhill against Ulster on September 1.

Gloucester expect to travel to Ireland with a full squad, allowing coach Phillipe Saint-Andre to select from his 12 international players, including club captain New Zealander Ian Jones and England regular Phil Vickery.

Munster will of course be without two members of last seasons squad, with Keith Wood having returned to Harlequins and Eddie Halvey joined London Irish.
