Bristol's newest Argentinian recruit Felipe Contepomi will have to wait until the start of the side's European Shield bid for the first game for his new club.

The arrival of the 23-year-old fly-half takes Bristol up to a complement of three Pumas with Agustin Pichot and Eduardo Simone already there.

For this weekend's visit of Leicester the man currently in the fly-half hot seat, Australian-born Steve Vile, will continue after a good performance against NEC Harlequins last week when he scored 20 of the away side's 25 points.

But Bristol are a club in some difficulty in second from bottom and Dean Ryan, Bristol's player coach, is unable call on the services of Gareth Bowen at fly-half because of a pulled thigh muscle and he will also be without Gareth Archer.

The England second row is continuing to struggle with a back injury picked up after just one game this season.
