Gloucester are set to buy out the remainder of Ben Morgan's Scarlets contract in a bid to force through a move for the England No.8, according to reports.

Morgan's name has been in the frame for a move to the Aviva Premiership ever since he was named in the England EPS for the 2012 Six Nations. Morgan now has two caps to his name and with the Engalnd selectors expressing a preference in the past to pick players plying their trade in the Premiership, Morgan may see his future lying there rather than in the RaboDirect PRO12.

Question marks still surround the future of No.8 Luke Narraway, but he told ESPN on Saturday that he was keen on staying at Kingsholm, despite interest from the Northampton Saints who are seeking a replacement for Roger Wilson - who will re-join Ulster at the end of the season.

Morgan, according to the Daily Telegraph, can expect a wage hike up to £160,000 a year if he opts to move to Kingsholm while buying out the last year of his Scarlets contract will cost the Cherry and Whites in the region of £100,000. Morgan was raised in Gloucester and according to the newspaper, the club will not receive any financial support from the Rugby Football Union in their bid to secure the 22-year-old's signature.
