Bath Rugby and the Newcastle Falcons played out a 21-21 draw in a pre-season friendly over in Beziers, France. The pair will meet in the opening game of the Aviva Premiership on September 6 and it was Bath who took the lead when prop Anthony Perenise went over. New signing Anthony Watson then added another and with Tom Heathcote's pair of conversions, Bath took a 14-0 lead. But Newcastle pinned them back in the second 40 with Ryan Shortland scoring for the Falcons with Noah Cato adding another. It was locked at 14-14 and Matt Banahan's intercept try looked to have won it for the visitors but Shortland scored at the death and with Phil Godman's conversion, the game finished 21-21. © ESPN Sports Media Ltd
