Rob Webber targets England spot

Bath's Rob Webber has set his sights on England's Elite Player Squad having been named in the Saxons for the forthcoming season.

Webber started for England in both Tests against Argentina in the summer taking advantage of Dylan Hartley's suspension and Tom Youngs' British & Irish Lions call-up. But England coach Stuart Lancaster has opted to keep Webber in the Saxons for the autumn internationals.

"Of course I'd have preferred to be in the Elite squad but Stuart certainly made the point that we are all one big squad rather than two separate squads," Webber told the Bath Chronicle. "That's been one of the really big improvements in the England set-up with the integration between the Saxons and the EPS squad.

"I know that if I continue to work hard and impress between the start of the season and November there's still a great chance I can be involved in those internationals."
