Harlequins have revealed that centre George Lowe will be sidelined for six weeks after undergoing surgery on an ankle injury.

The 22-year-old has missed Quins' last two Premiership clashes after picking up a knock in training and went under the knife on Friday to remove a bone fragment from his ankle.

The versatile Lowe started the defending champions' first three games of the campaign, scoring a try in the 40-3 demolition of London Welsh, having battled back from an ankle ligament injury suffered on international duty with England in South Africa in June.

Quins' director of rugby Conor O'Shea has made two changes in the wake of their defeat to Saracens last weekend for Saturday's clash with Exeter Chiefs. Karl Dickson starts ahead of Danny Care at scrum-half while in the forwards, Mark Lambert makes his first start of the season at loose-head with Joe Marler covering from the bench.
