Former Wales fly-half Nicky Robinson will join Top 14 club Oyonnax next season from Bristol on a three-year deal.

Bristol had already confirmed Robinson's departure and given their blessing for him to leave two years into a three-year contract. He will link up with his new team for the 2015-16 season.

Robinson, 33, has 13 caps for Wales, the last in 2009, and has also played for English clubs Gloucester and Wasps, as well as Welsh region Cardiff Blues.

"We'd like to thank Nicky for his contribution to the Club and the hard work he has shown," Director of Rugby Andy Robinson said. "Nicky has been a real joy to work with and will continue to show a positive attitude for the remainder of the campaign. He's committed to helping us achieve our goals."

Robinson added: "I'd like to thank Bristol for agreeing to release me this summer so I can explore other playing opportunities. I've really enjoyed my time with Bristol - it's a fantastic city for sport and the on and off-field developments are some of the best I've been involved with. Needless to say I remain firmly committed for the rest of the season in helping the club realise their ambition of returning to the Premiership."

Former Wales centre Gavin Henson is set to join Bristol at the end of the current campaign.
