Leicester Tigers boss Richard Cockerill has confirmed flanker Julian Salvi will leave the club at the end of the season.

Salvi has become an integral part of the Tigers side since his switch to the club from the Brumbies in 2011. He has made 112 appearances to date for the club but Cockerill has told the BBC he will leave at the end of the current campaign.

"The saga around that is what it is," Cockerill said. "Julian is moving on - that's life."

Salvi has been linked with a move to either France or to the Exeter Chiefs - the latter would see him follow in the footsteps of fellow Tigers team-mate Geoff Parling - but his new side is yet to be announced.

The Tigers have already moved to shore up their back-row ahead of next season with the signings of Opeti Fonua and Lachlan McCaffrey from London Welsh, Mike Williams from Worcester and Brendon O'Connor from the Blues.
