Saracens face Northampton Saints in the second round of the Anglo-Welsh Cup at Vicarage Road on Sunday and welcome back Adam Powell, David Seymour and Tom Ryder to the matchday squad.

Powell and Seymour both return to the team after knee injuries while Ryder is back from a loan spell with Taranaki in New Zealand as Sarries look to build on the momentum gained in wins over Viadana and Mont de Marsan in the past two weeks.

In other team news, England U20s trio Andy Saull, Alex Goode and Noah Cato will all start against the Saints while there are also opportunities for Don Barrell and Ben Skirving to get a start in the forward pack. Cobus Visagie makes his first start of the season in what will be his 100th appearance for the club.

Steve Borthwick will start the match at second row ahead of joining up with the England squad on Sunday evening while Andy Farrell captains the side from inside centre, with the returning Powell outside him. Gordon Ross gets the nod at fly half while Goode is given a chance at full back.

Northampton Saints Director of Rugby Jim Mallinder has called on his players to sharpen their act. The Saints' last trip to Watford was in the Premiership at the end of September, a match they lost to the Saracens. Although they have won their Anglo-Welsh Cup and European games in recent weeks Mallinder said today that the club cannot rest on its laurels.

"We've only won three games," the Saints' boss said. "It is nothing to get complacent about. While we scored tries against Montpellier there were plenty of mistakes that spoiled several other chances. If we do the same against Saracens we will not do as well. We saw that in the Premiership match there in September where we created some chances, could not finish them off and lost the game.

"I'm looking for the team to eliminate the errors, play to our game plan and put in a good performance. We want to win the game but know that we are going to have to work extremely hard to do so."
