One of the most modern sports arenas in South America, the Estadio Ciudad de La Plata (commonly referred to as Estadio Único) opened in 2003 despite delays to the project, and is owned by the Province of Buenos Aires. Seating around 36,000 fans, the stadium is home to Estudiantes, an Argentinian football club, and will also host the Pumas' Rugby Championship Test against New Zealand in September 2012.
