Pumas lose captain, flyhalf for tour

Argentina will be without star duo Juan Martin Hernandez and Felipe Contepomi for their three-match tour of Great Britain after they were ruled out by injury.

The Pumas will also be without Juan Martin Leguizamon after coach Santiago Phelan announced his 29-man squad for the tour which will begin against a England at Twickenham on November 14.

Fly-half Hernandez was ruled out after due to back problem that will sideline him for at least a month while skipper Contepomi and Leguizamon have been laid low by knee complaints.

Contepomi's omission means the captaincy is likely to fall to flanker Juan Martin Fernandez Lobbe, who skippered the Pumas in the June Test against England.

Phelan named six English-based players in his squad with Leicester Tigers duo Marcos Ayerza and Lucas Gonzalez Amorosino joined by Gonzalo Camacho, Gonzalo Tiesi (both Harlequins), Alfredo Lalanne (London Irish) and Mariano Sambucetti (Bristol).

The Pumas will also play Wales at he Millennium Stadium on November 21 before completing the tour against Scotland a week later at Murrayfield.
