Wales host Argentina on Saturday two years after the Pumas' last visit to the Millennium Stadium, and the home side will be looking to build on their nervous 27-20 victory.

After an early try by Ignacio Corleto gave the visitors a 7-0 lead and stuned the Welsh crowd, the home side fought back and by half-time Wales were cruising at 24-7. However, a second-half fightback from the Pumas produced a nail-biting finish, and Martin Durand was denied a last-minute try by the Television Match Official.

An impressive hat-trick by winger Shane Williams helped Wales to a 35-20 victory in 2004, their best result over Argentina, which also marked Mike Ruddock's first victory as Wales coach.

The fixture also saw the opening game of the 1999 World Cup at the Millennium Stadium. Tries from Colin Charvis and Mark Taylor helped the hosts to a 23-18 victory.

Argentina's best result came in Buenos Aires in 2006, when Felipe Contepomi kicked 30 points to help his side to a 45-27 win. Three late consolation tries flattered the scoreline for Wales, who were beaten convincingly by their hosts.
