Argentina have suffered a major blow prior to their November campaign, with star fly-half Juan Martin Hernandez ruled out with a hamstring problem.

The Racing Metro playmaker has withdrawn from the squad for Tests against Ireland, France and Italy after being tentatively included despite the doubts of his club coach Pierre Berbizier.

He has been out of action since September 11 after picking up the injury against La Rochelle, continuing a nightmatre run following a serious back problem.

The fly-half berth will now likely pass to skipper Felipe Contepomi although Montpellier's Santiago Fernandez is also an option in the No.10 jersey.

The Pumas are already without Stade Francais back-rower Juan Manuel Leguizamon after he picked up an 80-day ban for making contact with the eye area of Toulouse's Jean Bouilhou.
