Argentina have been dealt a blow ahead of the World Cup after back-row Alvaro Galindo was ruled out of the tournament.

The Racing Metro flanker pulled a thigh muscle during their Top 14 clash with Montpellier and has since been forced to pull out of the Pumas' 30-man squad for the tournament. In his place comes Wasps back-row Genaro Fessia.

Fessia's arrival at Adams Park was only confirmed last week with the Argentinean joining on a trial period. He started for Wasps against Treviso in their pre-season friendly on Saturday and was joined in the matchday squad by fellow new back-row recruits Matt Everard and James Harris. Fessia has nine caps to his name - earned between 2007 and 2010 - and was a notable omission from the Pumas' original World Cup squad.
