Toulon will be without star backs Leigh Halfpenny, James O'Connor and Matt Giteau for this weekend's European Champions Cup trip to Leicester.

Halfpenny booted Wales to victory over South Africa at the weekend but was forced to leave the field prematurely with an injury to his troublesome shoulder, while he also took a blow to the head, which could mean a second concussion of the month after suffering such an injury in Wales' opening autumn international against Australia.

Giteau requires more time to recover from the groin injury he sustained against Ulster in October and, according to Varmatin, will miss the return fixtures against Leicester over the next fortnight and could be on the sidelines for a month yet.

O'Connor has been deputising for Giteau in the No.10 jersey but won't be available against Leicester so Nicolás Sánchez, after an impressive autumn series with Argentina, is set to start at fly-half.
