Pichot ready to face Tigers - again!
February 6, 2003

Bristol Shoguns scrum-half Agustin Pichot is ready to do battle with Leicester Tigers for the fourth time in
nine months on Saturday.

The Shoguns, who have won the last three fixtures against Dean Richards' men, need to win on Saturday to
ensure they move up the Zurich Premiership table.

Commenting on www.bristolshoguns.co.uk, Pichot said: "I have good memories of Leicester. Over the last three
games against them we've played very well."

Bristol Shoguns became the first team to defeat Leicester at home in a domestic competition for four
years when they put 27 points past them in the Zurich Championship quarter-final in May.

Looking back at that result Pichot added: "That was at Welford Road where they have become nearly invincible.
And the most recent win came at home a couple of months ago."

"We are a very physical side, but we are trying to expand our game, not only so we have a forward
orientated game but also so we have a more all-round approach."

The Argentine international looks likely to be up against fellow scrum-half Jamie Hamilton on Saturday
afternoon, but said: "It's not about looking at your opposite number, it's about the experience you have
around the entire team. You don't concentrate on an individual, you have to carry on working and be more
aware of what is going on in your team rather than your opposite number."

Following Newcastle's win last weekend, the points gap in the bottom half of the table is much closer. "The
gap has closed, but we never thought that we were safe or away from trouble."

Pichot sees a number of teams fighting it out during the final third of the season. "There are more than
five clubs involved at the foot of the table. Teams have to find consistency and that is what Bristol
Shoguns need to do.

"If we don't improve our consistency then we'll continue as we have been. But last year we ended up in
eighth position, reaching Twickenham and qualifying for the Heineken Cup," added Pichot. "Consistency is the
key to success and we need to address it."
