Argentina head coach Santiago Phelan has included four England-based players in his preliminary squad for the summer series.

Leicester prop Marcos Ayerza, Sale's Toulon-bound flanker Juan Martin Fernandez Lobbe, Saracens fullback Francisco Leonelli and Harlequins centre Gonzalo Tiesi will join up with the Pumas ahead of the two Tests against England and the friendly against the French Barbarians.

Captain Felipe Contepomi has been left out as he recovers from a serious knee ligament injury. Argentina play England on June 6 in Manchester before the return match in Salta one week later.

The friendly against the Barbarians will take place in Buenos Aires on June 20, when the Pumas who won bronze at the 2007 Rugby World Cup will be honoured by the Argentinian Rugby Union.

Phelan will cut the 30-man preliminary squad to 26 a week before each game.
