Biarritz prop Sylvain Marconnet has been handed a recall by France coach Marc Lievremont for this year's Six Nations.

The experienced Marconnet, who won the last of his 80 Test caps against Ireland in last year's Championship, has been rewarded for a return to form in this season's Top 14 while Stade Francais lock Pascal Pape, Perpignan centre Maxime Mermoz, Toulouse fullback Clement Poitrenaud and winger Vincent Clerc also return to the mix.

Toulouse fly-half David Skrela, Biarritz forward Imanol Harinordoquy, Perpignan centre David Marty, Toulouse winger Maxime Medard and Clermont back-row Alexandre Lapandry lost their places during a disappointing November campaign but are also handed recalls.

France powered to the Grand Slam last year but ended 2010 on a low note with a 59-16 mauling at the hands of Australia. They kick off their Six Nations defence against Scotland at the Stade de France on February 5.
