Greene and Farah show their class at Olympic trials
Dai Greene barely broke a sweat as he cruised into the final of the 400m hurdles of the Aviva Trials in Birmingham.
Winning his heat at a stroll in a time of 50.80 seconds, Greene, who has been struggling to recover from knee surgery, was third fastest qualifier behind Nathan Woodward (50.34) and Rhys Williams (50.54).
Safe in the knowledge that he will be selected for the 5000m and 10,000m in London, Mo Farah opted to work on his speed, storming to victory in his 1500m heat.
Meanwhile, Adam Gemili continued his sparkling form as he qualified fastest for Saturday's 100m semi-finals in Birmingham. The 18-year-old won the opening heat in a time of 10.27 seconds, with veteran Dwain Chambers running 10.34 to win his heat.
Another young sprint sensation, Jodie Williams, eased into the semi-finals of the women's 100m after winning her heat in a season's best time of 11.70. Anyika Onuora was the fastest qualifier with a time of 11.47, while Montell Douglas, Abi Oyepitan and Ashleigh Nelson all won their respective heats.
"Good to blow out the cobwebs and finally race again," Williams wrote on her Twitter feed. "Hopefully tomorrow will bring faster times."
Reigning Olympic champion Christine Ohuruogu confirmed her return to form with a dominant performance in her 400m heat. The former world champion, who has struggled with injuries since her Beijing tiriumph, won her heat in a time of 52.14.
