Blake keen to turn his hand to cricket
Double Olympic silver medalist Yohan Blake is hoping to join Usain Bolt in Australia's Big Bash League later this year.
Blake, whose sprinting talent was spotted while playing cricket in Jamaica, has confirmed that he is keen to play Twenty20 in December.
"I want to play some Twenty20s. I think I am ready. I have a bowling machine at home that I am practising with," Blake told Sky Sports.
Bolt has been linked with the Melbourne Stars, and the world's fastest man could come face-to-face with training partner and sprint rival Blake Down Under, with the Sydney Sixers interested in signing the man nicknamed 'The Beast'.
"For one he is a great athlete, and yes he would be a marketer's dream, but from all reports he can actually play cricket and that's better than anything else," chief executive Stuart Clark told the Sydney Daily Telegraph.
"If he can do what he says he can do, and I have no reason to disbelieve him, Yohan would be a marquee player for me to sign. I would definitely be considering it.
"I will need to see some footage of him bowling, but he has been saying he can bowl 90 miles per hour. Very few people in the world can do that."
