Olympic heptathlon champion Jessica Ennis will be targeting the 7000-point barrier at the 2013 World Athletics Championships in Moscow.

The 26-year-old would be just the fourth woman in history to top the mark, following in the footsteps of joint world record-holders Jackie Joyner-Kersee of the United States and Sweden's Carolina Kluft (7032) and Russian Larisa Turchinskaya (7007).

Ennis' personal best of 6955 places her fifth on the all-time list, but while many athletes struggle for motivation in the wake of an Olympic cycle the Sheffield native believes she has more to prove in the sport, starting with her bid to reclaim the world title.

"Your motivation levels are very different, and it's hard to get back into that routine again, looking forward to the next championships," Ennis told Sky Sports News. "That's going to be the focus for the next year, preparing and being where I need to be.

"I have to see where I am in my career. I'm 26, I feel like I've got time to achieve a bit more.

"It's just about resetting your goals," Ennis added. "The Olympic dream has kind of been achieved, and that's a great feeling, but now I have to look forward - can I get my title back at the worlds next year and looking forward to 7000 points - just setting yourself new goals."
