Greene beats Osagie in rare contest

Dai Greene and Andrew Osagie split the difference on their preferred disciplines to lock horns over 600m at the International Match in Glasgow - with the Welshman edging the Londoner.
Greene, a 400m hurdles world champion in 2011, was one of the few disappointments for Team GB on the track at London 2012, while Osagie was a surprise Olympic finalist in the 800m.
American Duane Solomon won the race at the indoor Emirates Arena, as Greene came in second in a time of 1:16.22 and Osagie clocked 1:16.45.
After the race Greene said he was keen to face the 24-year-old again as the season progresses.
"There was a bit of friendly banter I think [before the race]," Greene said. "We both wanted to beat each other. We don't get to race each other often and I would love to race him again in a few months' time. I think we put on a nice race for the crowd as well."
In the men's 60m race, Dwain Chambers took victory ahead of St Kitts and Nevis sprinter Kim Collins with a time of 6.58secs. In the women's equivalent, Olympic 100m silver medallist Carmelita Jeter, from America, came in second behind Germany's Verena Sailer.
Olympic bronze medallist Robbie Grabarz finished second in the men's high jump, clearing 2.29m at the first attempt but then failing at 2.31m and 2.33m.
His personal best is 2.37m, but he had to concede victory to Russia's Aleksey Dmitrik.
