Double Olympic gold medallist Mo Farah will compete in the BUPA London 10k road race on May 27, event organisers have confirmed.

The 30-year-old will challenge for his fifth consecutive win at the event since its introduction to the sporting calendar in 2008. Farah finished third in the first race, before completing four straight victories and breaking British records in both 2009 and 2010.

After winning last year's run in under half an hour, Farah then went on to claim gold for Team GB in the 5,000m and 10,000m races at the 2012 London Olympic Games.

Farah completed just under half of the London Marathon in April and plans to run the full race in 2014.

Spearheading the women's event is debutant Amy Whitehead, who finished 12th in the London Marathon.
