Bolt keen on Commonwealth debut

Usain Bolt has revealed he is planning on making his Commonwealth Games bow in Glasgow next year.

Bolt, who won his second world 100m title on Sunday in Moscow, has never made an appearance at the Commonwealth Games - he missed the 2006 and 2010 events through injury.

There are no World Championships or Olympics in 2014, and Bolt admitted that could open the door to him competing at Hampden Park next August.

"On 'off-years' I try not to stress myself too much but I've never been to the Commonwealths so that's something I'm thinking about," he said.

"It's always something good to add to the resume.

"Next year I'll have to train hard and push myself. I'll be on the circuit trying to run fast times."

Bolt crossed the line in 9.77 seconds to see off Justin Gatlin and compatriot Nesta Carter at the Luzhniki Stadium.

It went some way to making up for his false start at the World Championships final in Daegu two years ago, and Bolt intends to keep up his dominance.

"I am going to try continue winning championships. I want to be mentioned alongside greats like Pele, Maradona and Muhammad Ali," Bolt added.

"It was an average start and that, for me, is a great start. Around great starters like Gatlin and Carter, I knew I had to get it right. I knew Gatlin was not going to crack under pressure so I had to stay focused and run to the line.

"I said to Gatlin I always appreciate competing with him because he always comes out and gives it his best."
