Idowu loses lottery funding

Former world triple jump champion Phillips Idowu has lost his lottery funding for 2013-14, with the 34-year-old not the only high-profile athlete to miss out.

Idowu took the gold medal in 2009 but missed out on this year's World Championships in Moscow.

Ex-world medallist Andy Turner has had his funding cut for the second time in his hurdles career. Dobriskey and Meadows, who claimed medals in the 1500m and 800m at the Worlds respectively, have also been taken off the list.

Jo Pavey, Yamile Aldama and Dwain Chambers have been excluded from the list, but the likes of London 2012 heroes Mo Farah, Greg Rutherford and Jessica Ennis-Hill keep their places.

The National Lottery funds are handed out by UK Sport, and they have rewarded the women's 4x100m relay team who claimed bronze at this year's Worlds. Long jumper Chris Tomlinson is also a part of the 22 athletes.
