Gemili finishes third as Williams impresses

Adam Gemili finished third but missed out on breaking the 10-second barrier in the 100 metres at Wednesday's Diamond League in Oslo.

Richard Thompson took victory in a time of 10.02 seconds with Jimmy Vicaut a close second after his time of 10.04 seconds. Gemili took third for the second successive Diamond meet in a time of 10.11 seconds. Fellow Brit Richard Kilty finished seventh with a time of 10.29 seconds.

Elsewhere, Phillips Idowu finished eighth in the triple jump with an effort of 16.30 metres, while America's Will Clay took top spot with his jump of 17.41m.

William Sharman finished fourth in the men's 110m hurdles and Jodie Williams clocked an impressive 22.97 seconds to take second place in the women's 200m. Allyson Felix, the four time Olympic champion returning from injury, finished first.

World record holder Ashton Eaton claimed victory in the men's 400m.
